OceanCliff in the Spring – Newport, Rhode Island

Jun 4, 2016

One of my “Photography Bucket List” items was to photograph a wedding in peak cherry blossom season in mid-May. Spring weddings are seriously my favorite. Flowering trees photograph so well on camera. Romantic, soft petals are perfect for weddings. Marie and Adam planned a beautiful Newport wedding from several states away. Both Marie & Adam have proudly served this country in the Armed Forces. We appreciate and thank you for your service! Marie is seriously one of the funniest women I have ever met. It’s my job to make jokes and give everyone a fun experience. Marie did that herself! She had me laughing and smiling so much that my cheeks hurt throughout the day! I loved everything about this day! There was so much variety in imagery between the natural, spring beauty of Newport combined with two historic properties chock full of glamorous architecture. We visited Newport’s famous Rosecliff Mansion for their First Look, followed by Morton Park for the cherry trees before headed to Oceancliff for a seaside ceremony & reception. Since their wedding, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing their growing family during a summer vacation to Rhode Island. It’s truly an honor to be asked to photograph many milestones for the same family.

Marie found a small hole in the bottom of her dress and joked “My whole day is ruined!” I knew we were going to have a great day!
Can you see why I think the cherry blossoms are heavenly?
This was 100% Marie & Adam’s idea! I cannot take credit. So fun! Love these two!!
A great example how special and emotional your ceremony still is, even after doing a First Look several hours earlier.
Another great candid! These two are truly one-of-a-kind!
Dress change just in time for sunset!
