Part Two of Claire & Andrew’s wedding blog highlights the reception portion of the evening, plus a few more portraits we took at sunset right after the ceremony.
As I mentioned in Part One, I love to save the front of Rosecliff Mansion for creating images closer to sunset. The front lawn of Rosecliff is drenched in sunlight and is ideal for portraits once the sun has dipped into the tree line. You cannot have a Rosecliff wedding without a fun photo of you and your wedding party on the lions!
The theme of the reception was “elegant dinner party”, which our friends at Blackstone Catering pulled off beautifully, as they always do! Several toasts were lovingly given by family members and recognized all the people who have supported the couple on their journey thus far. Claire & Andrew visited each table alternating between the bride’s guests and the groom’s side of the ballroom. A traditional toast was raised at each and every table. I loved witnessing and capturing these moments.
Claire changed into a Chinese traditional red dress called a qipao. Earlier in the day, we hung it next to her western white wedding dress for a duel dress hanging photo. What is better than two wedding dresses? I loved capturing this incredible wedding. Thank you for having us! It was a true pleasure to serve you and your families!

Our friends at Confectionary Designs created this pretty cake. The flowers you see are carefully crafted from sugar. The figurines here represent Claire in her traditional Chinese qipao and Andrew dressed in a traditional hanbok, a nod to his Korean heritage.
Claire in her beautiful qipao! I love, love, love rich, cultural traditions!
