Where do I begin? Krissy and Chris had the most gorgeous, Gatsby-themed Rosecliff Mansion wedding in June 2015. There were glorious Roaring 20s details everywhere: feathers, pearls, vintage typewriters, art-deco signage. We visited not one but two Newport Mansions! And there were dogs! Two of them!! Such a freaking perfect day. We were with Krissy and Chris for 12 hours but it felt like 12 minutes. I had SO MUCH fun with them! After all these months, revisiting their wedding images puts a huge smile on my face. Not only did they have a beautiful wedding, but this couple is nothing but FUN! Their infectious smiles and personalities made me feel like I was photographing close friends. We were such a great match and Jefferson & I feel so blessed to be apart of this special day.
You know what else made Krissy & Chris’ day extra special? They were really into pictures and allowed us 4 whole hours between the ceremony and reception to go all over Newport. (Yes, you read that right! FOUR hours! Truly a luxury) You know what the secret is to great wedding photography? Time & Attitude. If you allow enough time and are excited about your photos, truly magical things can happen.

Here’s a little behind-the-scenes look at all the fun with the video team from Mike Picard Motion Pictures and official Dog Wranglers! We were stopping traffic, blocking the side walk and causing a scene. Couldn’t have it any other way!

A little backstory about the next 2 images: The first photo is NOT mine 🙂 This is a photo of Robert Redford standing on the back lawn of the Elms Mansion posing for a movie poster of the 1974 film “The Great Gatsby”. I knew this image well as I LOVE to watch any film with footage from my hometown of Newport, RI. When I heard all about Krissy’s glorious Gatsby wedding plans, I pitched this idea for my spin on the movie poster. Chris was more then willing to indulge my idea! Move over, Robert Redford!
This is totally Krissy & Chris! They are all these perfect things rolled into one: beautiful, fun, down-to-earth and totally in love. They were super excited for Blackstone’s lobster mac ‘n cheese. Girl, I feel you!

Fun Fact: The bride’s new married initials are “KL”. When I put two and two together, I actually heard angels singing. These are “Magic Photo Moments”…and I live for them. I’d like to stop to give Chris’ brother a special shout-out for going out to the car around 11pm (the first time I had a chance to grab this ring shot all night!) and bringing this heavy, vintage typewriter back into the mansion so we could make this happen. After I saw the bride’s initials lined up, there was no way I was leaving without this shot!
