Rhode Island Love

Rhode Island Love

Nothing says summer in RI like an ice cold cup of frozen lemony goodness. Real Rhode Islanders bend and shake their cups....no spoons or straws! My heart skips a beat when I pull up to a wedding reception with a Del's truck parked out front.

Del's Lemonade

So what if the Rustic used to be a super sketchy outdoor adult theatre? Now it's a fun, family friendly activity. We love going to the Rustic on a Date Night and putting the top down on my convertible and watching a great film. (Plus, any Date Night when I can bring my own bottle of wine and wear sweatpants is just the cherry on top for me!)

Rustic Drive-In

We love coming here on a warm, summer afternoon and sipping wine overlooking the vineyard. Try their "Rising Tide"! We gave bottles of Rising Tide as our wedding favor with personalized labels I designed with photos of our dogs. The super great people at Newport Vineyards also allow us to take couples on property for engagement & wedding pictures!

Newport Art Museum

Our tradition after any wedding we photograph in the city is to hit up Olneyville for 3 weiners, all the way. We earned all the calories in this late night "snack"! Jefferson likes a Diet Coke on the side while I always opt for a coffee milk.

This beautiful museum is just a block away from the Faith Dugan Photography Studio on Bellevue Avenue. I love grabbing a cup of tea and viewing the latest collection of art the day before a wedding to draw inspiration and ideas.

We (heart) Rhode Island - here are some reasons why:

The number #1 thing we love about RI is that we simply have it all. In a 40 minute drive, you can be walking on a beach in Narragansett, transported back in time inside a historic mansion in Newport, hiking the woods of Arcadia or taking in the urban sights at Waterfire in Providence. One day, we might be photographing an elegant wedding in a mansion; the next day, causal seaside nuptials in the sand. We love it all!
