(just married!!) Melissa and Edward at Rosecliff Mansion – Newport, RI

Melissa & Ed had the most quintessential Newport wedding at Our Lady of Mercy Chapel at Salve Regina University and Rosecliff Mansion.  I mean seriously…this is the type of day every Newport bride dreams of: perfect June weather, lush green lawns, ocean views and historic beauty for days!  We had an absolute blast photographing this amazing power couple. Once you look at the images below, I think you’ll instantly fall in love with Melissa and her megawatt smile that lights up every room. What a joy it was to have these two in front of my lens!  Their color palette of delicate blushes, cream and hints of gold was ideal for Rosecliff mansion. In keeping with the theme of their historic venue, Melissa & Ed performed a choreographed first dance, The True Lies Tango, that dazzled their guests! (Fun Fact: Parts of the 1994 film “True Lies” with Arnold Schwarzenegger was filmed at Rosecliff Mansion) Looking at these photos always makes my heart happy!  Thank you, Melissa & Ed for believing in us!

One of my favorite parts of photographing at Our Lady of Mercy Chapel is the opportunity to get amazing close-up photos of the couple.  It’s unique set-up allows for great images of all this EXPRESSION! And what an expressive bride Melissa was:) As you can see, I couldn’t help myself and just kept clicking away.

Doesn’t Ed have that 1920s leading man vibe going on?  I felt like I was being transported in time back to the Gilded Age in Newport.

(Just Married!!) Krissy & Chris at Rosecliff Mansion – Newport, RI

Where do I begin?  Krissy and Chris had the most gorgeous, Gatsby-themed Rosecliff Mansion wedding in June 2015.  There were glorious Roaring 20s details everywhere: feathers, pearls, vintage typewriters, art-deco signage.  We visited not one but two Newport Mansions!  And there were dogs!  Two of them!!  Such a freaking perfect day.  We were with Krissy and Chris for 12 hours but it felt like 12 minutes.  I had SO MUCH fun with them!  After all these months, revisiting their wedding images puts a huge smile on my face.  Not only did they have a beautiful wedding, but this couple is nothing but FUN!  Their infectious smiles and personalities made me feel like I was photographing close friends.  We were such a great match and Jefferson & I feel so blessed to be apart of this special day.

You know what else made Krissy & Chris’ day extra special?  They were really into pictures and allowed us 4 whole hours between the ceremony and reception to go all over Newport.  (Yes, you read that right!  FOUR hours!  Truly a luxury)  You know what the secret is to great wedding photography? Time & Attitude.  If you allow enough time and are excited about your photos, truly magical things can happen.

Chris was more then willing to indulge my idea!  Move over, Robert Redford!

These  are “Magic Photo Moments”…and I live for them.  I’d like to stop to give Chris’ brother a special shout-out for going out to the car around 11pm (the first time I had a chance to grab this ring shot all night!) and bringing this heavy, vintage typewriter back into the mansion so we could make this happen.  After I saw the bride’s initials lined up, there was no way I was leaving without this shot!
